I have a soft spot for road trips. While I love nothing more than being fully immersed in the wilderness, hiking a trail, there’s nothing like not having a care in the world and watching views pass by in the comfort of your car.
Let me just start this post by saying - I looooove granola. Crunchy, sweet, carby goodness, AND super easy to make (thank goodness, because store bought gets expensive really quick). Granola can be a great option for hiking and backcountry trips because it’ll provide quick energy, packs up light enough, and can be a cheap(er) alternative to other hiking foods. Not to mention, what Mountain Chicks doesn’t love some homemade goodness while away from home?
Need we say more? These brownies will give you women who hike and camp the chocolate fix you're looking for.
Who's ready to get to cookin'? They say if it's too hot, get out of the kitchen, so we moved to the campfire. Gather around folks! The #MtnChicksCampfireKitchen is open! Every Friday from now until whenever, we'll be dishing up our favorite outdoor recipes to fuel your adventures. Happy Foodie Friday to all you women who hike and explorers alike. This first recipe comes from Illinois Ambassador Jenn.
