Hey Mountain Chicks! Hanna is taking you to the red rocks of Sedona where she and Dani find one of the town's hidden treasures, the Soldiers Pass Caves. Aka the Arches. These bad boys aren't easy to find. Come on this adventure where we take you women who hike straight to them. Become a member of Mountain Chicks when you're done reading!
One of my all time favorite places in Sedona are the caves along the soldiers pass trail. Especially if you have the place to yourself. It's so quiet, peaceful, and absolutely gorgeous!
I wish I could say getting to said caves were an easy find. The first time we tried to find them, We ended up on the Brins Mesa trail. A giant, but beautiful loop with some amazing Sedona overlooks. We even backtracked after making the loop in hopes to find the cave trail. No luck.
The second time venturing to this classic Sedona trail, the caves were the #1 priority. After following not one, but two wrong trails, somehow we ended up the bottom of the right trail. Was attacked by a spiky bush at one point, and still have the scar to prove it. Luckily some people were headed in the right direction, so we followed them! It took some scrambling to the trail, but finally we were on the right path! The trail up to the caves is not extremely well kept, but it's most definitely worth it! Probably the coolest place I had been to in Sedona.
On the way back, the "wilderness" sign post on a tree became clear. A sign that all the websites and articles had deemed "easy to find". If you knew where you were looking for it, it would have been easy for sure! Lol. But it made for an easy find the next time I went up!
