Meet the Ambassadors
Kay Allan - Pennsylvania
Hi my name is Kay and I was born and raised in the beautiful state of Pennsylvania! I was exposed to outdoor adventure and traveling at a very young age and have been passionate about exploring ever since. For me, mountains are the best medicine and though my home state may not have the biggest mountains, I'm determined to reveal the hidden beauty that lies in the Appalachians (spoiler alert: the picture above is NOT in Pennsylvania). I'm pumped to be part of such a cool community of people who share the same passion for nature, adventure, and mountains! Let's get outside!
Maggie Smith - Maryland/Virginia
I'm Maggie and I grew up roaming the woods of New Hampshire. I am an active duty Army Officer and really fell in love with backcountry hiking, camping, and outdoor leadership when I did an Outward Bound Veterans Program in Leadville, CO - I've since completed programs in Joshua Tree and the Everglades. In my rambling life, I've done everything from working on an organic vegetable farm in Vermont to a dude ranch in Jackson Hole to refinishing antique furniture in Salt Lake City to being stationed in Germany and hiking the Alps to a deployment in Iraq... the common thread that runs through my wanderings is a love for the outdoors and all it has to offer (although that was a bit tough in Iraq...). I am an avid ultra runner and compete as much as my schedule allows - my biggest accomplishments, to date, is finishing 17th woman at the 2016 Leadville 100 Trail Race (it only fueled my desire to spend more time on the trails) and completing a Rim-to-Rim at the Grand Canyon with my big brother in August (so hot). My day job is amazing - the Army is sending me to a doctoral program at George Washington University in Science and Technology Policy starting fall 2017. After that, I'll move with my family to West Point to be an instructor at the United States Military Academy which is a dream come true! I am honored to represent Mountain Chicks and my goal is to share my love for all things outdoors with my nine year-old daughter, Emily, my border collie, Thelma and all of you!
Angela DeLisle - New York
Hey, I'm Angela and I live in Upstate New York. The Adirondacks prompted my love for the outdoors and adventure at a young age. I fell in love with hiking a few years ago when I began hiking the 46 high peaks in the Adirondacks. I quickly became obsessed with the rugged trails and challenging climbs. I became a 46er in 2016 and I'm now working on the New Hampshire 48 with my dog Jaxon. I enjoy everything related to the outdoors and am passionate about teaching others how to enjoy these places responsibly by practicing Leave No Trace. I am happiest when I'm dancing on a summit while sharing an epic view with other badass mountain chicks.
