Nestled in the Condado District of San Juan, the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino is as close as it comes to a luxury stay in San Juan, Puerto Rico! I had the pleasure of enjoying this lovely resort on my recent trip to Puerto Rico with the Marriott team. While there, I also had the pleasure of staying at the Sheraton Puerto Rico and the AC Hotel, San Juan, which are both worth noting as excellent hotel choices as well.

Whether it's places to eat, nightlife, beach access or a close drive to Old San Juan, the SJ Marriott Resort probably has what you're looking for.

Staff
I'd like to officially start this blog by saying that Angie, aka the Lovely Escapist, and I really gave the staff a run for their money the day we checked in. Prior to arriving to the SJ Marriott, Angie and I had been to two other Marriott Hotels. Most of our time was spent exploring San Juan, and we were itching for some outdoor time. Side note: if you're looking to do something adventurous, Puerto Rico is the place for you. More to come on that soon!

With the help of the AC Hotel staff, we were able to book a last minute private tour to the west side of Puerto Rico where we would be able to do some hiking. This required spa appointments to be changed, a seamless check-in process and tour of the resort and some much needed patience from everyone.

The San Juan Marriott staff was extremely accommodating. Our check-in was at 10:00a.m. and our spa appointment was at 10:30a.m. the same morning. Now add a private tour to a location an hour away from your hotel at 11:00a.m., and you have quite the schedule. The moment we arrived on property, we were greeted by a gentleman named Pedro who was much more put together than I could ever be. With an earpiece and the help of his equally amazing staff, Pedro had us in and out of our room, the spa and on time for our tour.

As we were getting picked up for our tour with Mario, Pedro even brought us pool towels to use during the waterfall hoping we would do! I can honestly say that this staff was extremely friendly and probably much friendlier than they had to be, which made the stay so much better.

I will admit, there were some staff members that were just as helpful who's names I cannot remember. The front desk staff was very kind and helped us countless times during our staff from opening locked doors so we would do photography to working with the bellhops to get us a taxi to the airport when our original ride never showed. The staff alone convinced me that the San Juan Marriott is one of the best hotels you can stay at while enjoying the island of Puerto Rico.

Rooms
While I normally do not spend much time in hotel rooms, I must say, our room on the twentieth floor with the beach view was just what I needed after long days out on the town. The sunrises from our balcony were by far some of the best I have ever seen. Can we also talk about how epic the beach view is from here? Who needs a drone when you are on the top floor?

The rooms were decorated and reminiscent of what you might find in a building in Old San Juan. They had a sort of colonial feel to them, which made me wonder what Puerto Rico used to look like before there were concrete jungles. I loved every detail. The soft colors, the wooden headboards- all of it made the stay feel like something from a story book.

Amenities
The Marriott team was kind enough to book spa appointments for Angie and I. I have not had many massages in my life, but in all honesty, the massage from the Ocean Club Spa was enough to get me to come back to PR. I walked out of there feeling like a new woman. I can't say much more than that, you'll just have to book your own appointment!

Next to the spa area is a fitness center, which was brand new. It was quite spacious and had plenty of machines and weights available. Now go down a couple of floors and you'll find yourself in the pool area. While I didn't try the water slide, it did look very tempting. The beach is also available from here and the hotel has umbrellas and chairs available for use!

The next time you decide to book a trip to Puerto Rico, I highly recommend staying at the San Juan Marriott Resort! Thank you to the amazing Marriott team for making this trip possible!
